Summer sports: which are the best options?

A swim to start the day, a walk in the afternoon, and, to finish, a game of volleyball on the beach… It’s decided: summer will be sporty.

Physical activity is an excellent way of keeping fit, but a few precautions can be useful beforehand, especially for those who prefer to stay at home. After your sports sessions, you can use CBD oil and other CBD products for muscle relaxation and enjoy the many benefits for the body and mind! You can find out everything you have to know about legal CBD Hash and other products online!

But which sports to practice this summer? Our experts are giving you helpful advice:

Nordic walking

Originally done on snow with a pair of skis, Nordic walking has now become a popular activity for senior citizens because it stimulates heart and muscle activity without putting stress on the joints. What’s more, the level of difficulty can be varied to make each outing stimulating and effective for weight control and muscle tone.

Nordic walking is done with a pair of shoes suitable for walking or running and two poles to support you on the ground. Although it looks easy, this physical activity is very energy-intensive, involving 80-90% of the muscles, compared with 50% for traditional walking. The deep muscles, shoulders, legs, and arms are ideally mobilised, which is ideal for toning the body and burning fat effectively. The advantage of walking is that you can do it anywhere: on the sand, in the mountains, in the forest, on a fitness trail or even in town.

Weight training

In the gym, using body weight or elastic bands, weight training is by far the most compelling sport for toning up and burning fat. When muscles are forced to work hard and put on extra weight, they burn calories for up to 72 hours after a session! What’s more, you can prioritise an area of the body with specific exercises, which no other sport can do.

Take the time to try out bodyweight or elastic sessions on the beach, or take advantage of your free time to do a trial session in the gym. If you become a bodybuilding fan, remember that nutrition plays just as important a role as severe and regular training.

  • Eat enough protein to help your muscles tone up and better use energy (from carbohydrates and stored fat).
  • Eat at regular intervals, ideally 4 times a day.
  • Take advantage of the incredible benefits of superfoods to enrich your diet and stay in shape all year round.

Cycling

Perfect for… family outings. Baby’s first summer? There’s no question of staying cooped up and not getting active. Why not choose a suitable trailer or bike seat and set off on invigorating rides? Then, it’s off to tricycles and bikes with small wheels. It’s always a good idea to refresh children’s memories of safe cycling rules at the start of the summer season. Teaching your child to ride a 2-wheeled bike alone requires a lot of patience. It’s an exercise that requires them to find their centre of balance and develop good coordination – no mean feat! Adjust the bike to your child’s height.

The saddle should not be too high, and they should be able to touch the ground with their toes. Also, they should prefer brakes to pedals to start with, and there’s no need for gears. Go and practise with your child (which often means running behind him and encouraging him!) in a park or schoolyard where there’s plenty of space and your child won’t be too distracted.

Recommendation: Helmets are for everyone—for little ones, of course, and for adults at all times, too! Even if you’re not used to wearing one, set a good example and put one on! It’s a question of safety! Neither experience nor age matters when accidents happen!

Walking

Perfect for… moving anywhere, anytime! Walking is a sport that’s suitable for everyone and can be done in all seasons. And you don’t have to go far from home.

Is there a park nearby? Take a walk there every evening. Take a diversion to the park, bring yourself a good book, and that’s it. The whole family is happy, and we are all moving! Did you know that living near a green space is an excellent incentive to walk? Why not try running a few errands on foot this summer? Why not? It doesn’t take long to get into a good habit!

Recommendation: Eat well before setting off on a walk. Also, to avoid injury and back pain, remember to wear the proper footwear. Sandals are more relaxed but could be more practical! Invest in comfortable running shoes, which will make all the difference!
