10. Athletics
Athletics in the United States, or “Track and Field” as they call it, encompasses many forms of athleticism such as sprinting, hurdle jumping, high and long jump, etc. Americans are great specialists in speed tests, having made history in great international events. These sporting activities are very popular in High School and College stages.

Currently, the United States is one of the most dominating countries in terms of swimming worldwide. The National Hockey League, NHL, is considered one of the most important competitions in the world, where not only the best American players play but also those considered by many fans to be the true kings of this sport; Canadians and Russians.
It is more widespread among the northern states due to its more favourable climate for outdoor practice. However, many colleges and universities across the country have ice rinks for local clubs, even in the warmer states.

Baseball is considered one of the most popular sporting activities for Americans. It is popular at almost all stages in school at an amateur level. Unlike other sports that are hardly practised outside the United States, baseball is widespread in other countries such as Japan, Korea, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Cuba.
