Top Contenders to Win the New Premier League Season

The English Premier League (EPL) remains one of the most watched sports leagues, thanks to its millions of fans all around the globe. No wonder the announcement of odds for the upcoming matchups has generated as much anticipation among sports betters.

This has led to a dramatic increase in interest in bookmakers that provide new customer betting offers for their bettors. People are already betting on who the eventual champions of the 2022/2023 EPL season would be. Yet, until the smoke clears, we can’t say for sure who will come out on top. For now, let’s look at the current best contenders to win the English Premier League.

Manchester City

Manchester City’s second title defense has gotten off to a great start thanks to a relatively easy August schedule (they play none of the Premier League’s top clubs). They started the season with a 2-0 victory over West Ham and followed it up with a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth to stay flawless through two games before dropping their first points of the season in a shocking 3-3 draw against Newcastle.

The arrival of Erling Haaland has done nothing but boost Man City’s chances of winning three EPL titles in a row. Haaland scored his first hat trick in the Premier League in their 4-2 victory against Crystal Palace on Matchday 4. In the next game, Man City thumped Nottingham Forest 6-0, and Haaland scored a hat trick for the second time in as many games.

We have seen the departures of Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling, and Gabriel Jesus. Three important players from recent seasons have left the club and been replaced by Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez, and the human mountain Erling Haaland.

Arsenal

Arsenal took an early lead in the Premier League by winning their first five games, but they were unable to increase their lead after suffering a loss to Man Utd in game six.

Even with a good opening run of games before the Man Utd defeat, few bettors whether using freebet from bookies listed on gamblizard.com or real money would have picked Arsenal to win all five of their first matches, particularly considering how opponents like Crystal Palace challenged them last season.

But Arsenal kicked off the Premier League season with a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park and continued to roll until they were halted in their tracks by Ten Hag.

To replace the reliable Alexandre Lacazette and the recently defunct Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang with the dynamic Gabriel Jesus is an excellent acquisition. They may start to play with the big boys if he scores 20-25 goals, Bukayo Saka takes the next step up, and Martin Odegaard continues to blossom as captain.

We’ll have to see if Mikel Arteta’s boys have what it takes to challenge for the title in the later stages of the competition.

Liverpool

The Reds haven’t been too convincing so far this season. On the first weekend of the new season, Liverpool faced newly promoted Fulham and found themselves down by a goal twice before coming back to secure a draw at Craven Cottage.

They most recently lost to Man United. Klopp’s squad got back on track with a resounding 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth at Anfield on Matchday 4. Not only did they beat Newcastle 2-1 on Wednesday, but the game was filled with drama thanks to a late goal from Fabio Carvalho.

The first Merseyside Derby of the season was played on the first weekend of September, and the first weekend of October will see a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.

Sadio Mané was allowed to depart by Klopp, while Roberto Firmino had been relegated to a supporting role for most of the previous campaign. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz made significant contributions right away, and the addition of Darwin Nunez, who had a promising preseason, has raised the bar.

Tottenham Hotspur

Given Conte’s track record as a multiple-time champion and the team’s strong start to the summer transfer window, the North Londoners are favorites to make the challenge for the EPL title.

They started with a 4-1 victory over Southampton, followed by a 1-1 draw with London rivals Chelsea, and then two hard-fought 1-0 victories against Wolves (at home) and Nottingham Forest (0-2, away).

A draw followed Spurs with West Ham and a victory over Fulham. In October, Spurs will play Arsenal and Manchester United before finishing the season with games against Liverpool and Leeds before the World Cup break.

Last year, Dejan Kulusevski was one of the best acquisitions because he quickly became one of the most feared wingers in the league. Meanwhile, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min pressed the accelerator to the floor. Perhaps their most influential signing this season would be Richarlison. The young Brazilian is already showing sparks of what he can do on the pitch.

Manchester United

Manchester United have won four consecutive Premier League matches after dropping their opening two of the season at home to Brighton & Hove Albion and on the road at Brentford.

It all began with a 2-1 victory over Liverpool on August 22 and has continued with wins against Southampton and Leicester and a 3-1 victory over league leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

United was clinical in the final third, and as a result, their odds of winning the league have increased significantly for the first time in 10 years. It’s still unclear as to what role an unhappy Cristiano Ronaldo would play in this new look Man United team. But players like Rashford, Antony, and Sancho are already carrying the team.

There are many strong contenders for the 2022-23 Premier League title among these clubs. Still, anything is possible; the winner may be someone you never even thought about – just like Leicester City in the 2015-16 season. This is what makes football exciting.
