Premier League 2025 Predictions: End of the Season Forecast

With most teams playing their 29th matchday last weekend and an international break before a double matchday this week, the Premier League picture is not yet fully painted. Despite everyone eagerly awaiting the inevitable and with minimal surprises possible, there are still many games for each side to finish before everything is set and done. EPL standings tend to switch more often and the competitive level is much higher than in other domestic leagues.

Despite Liverpool counting days before they can officially be crowned champions, they are not yet in the clear and will have to wait until the middle of April to make it official. Until then, there are dozens of games worth watching as well as other important questions that need answering. So join us as we talk about the table, stats, awards, and of course, Premier League live betting odds for the wagering enthusiasts among the readers. There is no better competition to bet on than the English PL so let us get started.

Current Standings

As of the writing of this article, Liverpool has a +12 lead over Arsenal. They are firmly in control of the standings with 70 points after 29 games with 21 wins, 7 draws, and still only 1 loss. They have scored 69 and allowed 27 goals for a league-best goal difference of 42. Arsenal had their chances during the season to come closer and even overtake their rivals but has failed to do so. They are now with 58 points, 16 wins, 10 draws, and 3 losses with a goal difference of +29. They will probably, once again, finish second for the third season in a row after failing to overtake Manchester City in 2024 and 2023.

The biggest surprise of the season is Nottingham Forest who are currently cruising to a top 3 spot. By the end of the season, they could even overtake Arsenal and finish second as the difference is only 4 points. Right now, Nottm Forest has 54 points from 16 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses. They have scored 49 and allowed 35 goals, for what is the fifth-best goal difference of +14. They finished last season just outside of relegation in the 17th spot with 32 points and such a jump where they escaped the middle of the table in less than a season deserves praise.

Chelsea is fourth right now but is nowhere near safe. They have 49 points whereas Manchester City, Newcastle, and Brighton are breathing down their neck with 48, 47, and 47, respectively. The Blues of London have the third-best GD of +16 but have struggled lately with 3 losses and 2 wins in their last five. City have been streaky at best all season, and their last five games are 2 losses, 2 wins, and a draw. They have a +15 goal difference and have scored well, but also missed many opportunities to finish games decisively. Still, they can overtake Chelsea by the end of the season, provided they watch their flank as Brighton has not lost in their last five.

Who Will Play European Football Next Season?

It is Liverpool, Arsenal, Notmm Forest, and Chelsea in the first four spots that lead directly to the UEFA Champions League group stage. Man City is currently fifth, a spot that takes you to the Europa League group stage. This battle will be very interesting as Newcastle and Brighton could also grab the fourth of fourth spot and play in Europe next season, but so could a few other teams. Fulham, for example, or Aston Villa, are at 45 points, 3 fewer from the EL spot and 4 from the final CL spot. The battle for UEFA competitions looks to be more interesting towards the end of the season than the title race.

Individual Awards Forecast

The top scorer and top assist honors are surely going to the same player, Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward has been absolutely superb this season as one of the best players in Europe. He is currently sitting at 27 goals and 17 assists, both of which are head and shoulders above the second-placed Erling Haaland with 21 goals and Antonee Robinson, Bukayo Saka, and Mikkel Damsgaard with 10 assists. These stats, combined with Liverpool winning the title, will guarantee him the PFA Player of the Year award as he has 1.05 odds right now to win it.

As for the goalkeepers, the Golden Glove award should go to Matz Sels of Notmm Forest as he is favored by sportsbooks like Sportsbet.io with 1.65 odds. Among the managers, Arne Slot should absolutely win Manager of the Season as the Dutch expert will win the title in his first season with the team, and first in the league. Nobody else even has a case to be made, except perhaps the Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who would have won it had Slot not done what he has done in his inaugural season on the bench of Liverpool.

As for the Young Player of the Season, there are a few names to be included in the choice. Cole Palmer is one pick, which would make him do what Phil Foden did by winning it in back-to-back seasons. He has scored 14 goals and dished out 6 assists so far. Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest is another option with 8 assists and 5 goals, with his team’s success as the main factor.  Liam Delap was the early favorite, but his Ipswich Town being relegated does not favor him. He has scored 10 goals so far and assisted twice and the 22-year-old has a bright career ahead of him.

Relegation and Promotion Teams

Three teams that are going to be relegated this season are Ipswich Town, Leicester City, and Southampton. Their respective point tallies are 17, 17, and 9, with goal differences of -34, -40, and -49. In the Championship, Sheffield United and Leeds United look to be the main candidates for promotion to the EPL as they are currently in the top two with 83 and 80 points. As for the playoffs, teams ranked from third to sixth are Burnley (78), Sunderland (69), Coventry (59), and West Brom (57), with Bristol City (57) and Middlesbrough (54) are also still in contention.
