Match Stats: Barcelona closing in on title

The LaLiga title race looked to be a bit of a battle a few weeks ago with Barcelona and Real Madrid trading blows pretty regularly, but Hansi Flick’s side have since pulled away from that fight and are now closing in on back-to-back LaLiga titles after dominating the division last season.

It still feels like a bit of a flat season for Barcelona despite this incoming domestic success, mainly because of their early exit in the Champions League, which is the trophy you’d think is now on the mind of Hansi Flick for next season.

There are five games of the LaLiga season remaining, and Barcelona boast a nine-point lead over Madrid, one that they can increase further here and also when they take on Madrid at the Camp Nou next week. Barcelona have the best away record in LaLiga this season, winning 11 of their 16 matches and scoring 35 goals across these games.

Osasuna have notably only lost two of their 16 home games in LaLiga this term, with only four sides in the division picking up more points at home than Osasuna this season. I think they can get on the scoresheet; they’ve scored in four of their last five matches and have shown how stubborn they can be at home.

Predictions:

BTTS @ 1.53

BTTS & Barcelona to win @ 3.00

Shot Stats: Ferran Torres worth keeping an eye on

Only the injured Lamine Yamal (16) has scored more goals in LaLiga this season for Barcelona than Ferran Torres (14). Impressively, none of these goals have come from the penalty spot – making Ferran Torres Barcelona’s top scorer from open play in LaLiga this term.

I think it’s easy to forget how talented Torres is given how often the likes of Yamal, Raphinha, Lewandowski and even Olmo tend to dominate the headlines for Hansi Flick’s side – but Torres is really effective, he’s not as eye catching as those other Barcelona stars but he’s consistently been a goal threat for Barcelona, netting 10+ goals in each of his last three seasons.

You can get 2.10 for Torres to score here, which I think is worth taking given his record for the club in LaLiga this season, and when also considering that Barcelona are expected to be without Yamal and Raphinha here – so Torres will have to step up if Barcelona want to come away with all three points in this encounter.

Predictions –

Ferran Torres to score anytime @ 2.10

Card Stats: Osasuna tend to be aggressive

Only three sides have picked up more yellow cards than Osasuna (80) in LaLiga this season, working out to an average of 2.42 cards per game. They committed eight fouls and were shown three yellow cards when these sides met earlier in the campaign, showing how even with a low foul count, Osasuna can end up with a decent number of cautions.

Osasuna’s two most cautioned players in LaLiga this season are Alejandro Catena (10) and Jon Moncayola (8), who are both worth looking at for bookings in this clash. Moncayola was booked in the initial league meeting between the sides, committing two of the eight fouls that Osuana committed in total during that assignment.

Predictions –

Jon Moncayola 2+ Fouls @ 1.90

Jon Moncayola to be shown a card @ 3.1
