Sam North on the Growth and Future of Footy Adventures

Your YouTube channel ‘Footy Adventures’ has had phenomenal success in 2021. For those who haven’t watched before, what is your channel all about?

“Thank you very much! I feel duty-bound to tell the stories of every football club. As much as I love to cover Celtic, Rangers, Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal and other huge clubs, I also feel I need to tell the stories of the lesser-known clubs. There is no bias from me and I just try my best to tell the footballing stories exactly as they are. I’m just a huge lover of the game!”

You have had some great access at clubs across the U.K. Which clubs have been the most supportive to you so far?

Kelty Hearts without a doubt. Seeing them grow as a club as my channel has grown has been really exciting. But others such as Stenhousemuir, Kilwinning Rangers, Hamilton, Inverness Caley Thistle, Hartlepool, Penrith AFC, Elgin. There’s genuinely too many to mention but most are fantastic!!

You met many fans during your time filming this year. Are there any fans that stand out in your memory?

It may sound cheesy but everyone. It takes a lot of confidence to put your face, voice and opinions online for the world to see so I genuinely respect everyone who has come on. The Kelty, Auchinleck Talbot and Elgin ultras were all hilarious!

Last but not least, how can we check out your work and what do you have planned for 2023?

The best place to find me is through YouTube on Footy Adventures. I always update my Instagram and Twitter pages which can be found in the description box of all my videos. 2023 is going to be another busy year, expect more clubs and vlogs from new and wonderful places. I’ll also revisit old friends at all my favourite places in Scotland and England!
