Argentina honored the achievements of Lionel Messi by naming the sports complex of the Argentine national team after him.

Lionel Messi received a new important distinction from the president of the Argentine Football Federation, Claudio Tapia, who renamed the training center of his national team to the name of “Lionel Andrés Messi” on March 25.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is currently with the national team, was present for the occasion, along with AFA president Claudio Tapia and coach Lionel Scaloni, and unveiled the plaque with his name on it. “This recognition is one of the most beautiful I have ever received,” Messi posted on Instagram. “A great honor, thank you very much!”

Renovation and Expansion Planned

The Lionel Andrés Messi Training Center will be completely renovated, and a three-story hotel, a high-performance technology training center, a recovery room as well as an auditorium for 360 people will be built around the existing fields.
