Early performance in Premier League likely to impact demand surges for tickets this season

The 25/26 season of the Premier League has officially kicked off, as of Friday 15th August, and will conclude on Sunday 24th May 2026.

To celebrate the start of the new season, the team at online ticketing platform 1Boxoffice.com has looked at its first-party ticket sales data for this season (25/26) to date to predict which Premier League teams are most ‘in-demand’ for football fans looking to secure tickets.

Looking at ticket sales and interest for the first weekend of fixtures, the team found that the most ‘in demand’ fixture was Manchester United vs Arsenal, which was played on Sunday 17th August at Old Trafford, and resulted in a 1-0 win for Arsenal.

Arsenal was also highlighted as the ‘most popular’ Premier League team last season (24/25), according to 1Boxoffice.com’s ticket sales data from last year. Plus, with an average monthly search volume of 246k, Arsenal also found itself in a top five position (#5) for teams creating ‘buzz’ online last season – with players Declan Rice, Raheem Sterling, & Buyako Saka in particular being regularly searched for by football fans during the season.

The expert sales team added that ‘early performance’ in the initial games this season could easily surge ticket demand for future games. As well as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have won both of their initial fixtures, and this strong starting performance could mean that fans for these teams might find it more difficult to get their hands on tickets in the coming weeks.

For the three promoted teams joining the league this season – including Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland – it seems that fans are potentially holding back on purchasing tickets for future games until stronger performance is demonstrated, with all three teams so far having had a mixed bag of wins and losses at the very start of the season.

The team also warned that upcoming fixtures might also see a heightened demand from holidaymakers who look to secure tickets for the early fixtures in the summer break, and revealed that currently home fixtures for both Liverpool and Arsenal are very much in demand for the 25/26 season.

With this in mind, the team also gave some advice for fans hoping to secure Premier League tickets for future fixtures this season, advising fans to buy tickets early – both to avoid disappointment, and as ticket prices usually go up as you move closer to the matches.

When looking for affordable tickets, the team shared that seat selection is key, and that the upper short-side (located at a higher perspective behind the goals) tends to be the most affordable in general.

Its historical data also indicates that customers who purchase tickets early are most likely to save ‘up to 50%’ of the price that they would have to pay for the tickets closer to the match dates.
