Will Poland Qualify to UEFA Euro 2024?

Qualifying matches for next year’s UEFA Euro tournament have started recently, and with groups being stable, we can start to speculate which team will make it. In this article, we will analyze and familiarize you with all the players of Polish national representation and see if they have a chance of qualifying for next year’s tournament.

What is UEFA Euro 2024?

UEFA Euro 2024 is next year’s edition of UEFA’s European Championship which is a traditional major international football tournament. It is organized by the Union of European Football Associations aka UEFA. There is a tournament every four years with the first being held over 60 years ago in 1960. The best European national teams compete against each other to determine who is the best currently. Even though they are not World Cup winners, which is the biggest soccer tournament out there, some players prefer to win UEFA Euro than even winning the Champions League

Polish Squad in 2023

Here we will take a closer look at who is playing for Poland in this year’s qualifying matches to earn a spot at Euro 2024 and see who they are. We will not go over every single player but those who already played at least one game in the qualifying tournament. Robert Lewandowski is a forward player who needs the least introduction. He is one of the best strikers currently playing in any league. He is currently 34 years old which means he can still go for a couple more years until he retires from professional soccer like Zlatan Ibrahimovic did earlier this year after playing in LA Galaxy for some time. Robert Lewandowski is currently playing for Barcelona.

Wojciech Szczęsny is a goalkeeper who is also a very known Polish player. He played in multiple international tournaments for Poland and is currently playing for Juventus since 2017. He is 33 years old, so similar age to Robert Lewandowski. Karol Świderski is one of the youngest players in Poland’s national team at only 26 years of age. He is currently playing in MLS in Charlotte and will be playing there until the end of 2025. He is a forward player, usually playing in the middle.

Arkadiusz Milik is one of Poland’s best attackers in recent memory, excluding of course Robert Lewandowski. He is playing alongside his friend Wojciech Szczęsny at Juventus, but he is on loan to Olympique Marseille. Nicola Zalewski is one of the youngest players here, being born only in 2002. This 21-year-old player is a left midfielder, who is currently playing for AS Roma in Serie A. Even Tottenham is supposedly interested in signing this player.

Piotr Zieliński, a Polish midfielder playing for SSC Napoli on an everyday basis is also a Series A team. He will turn 30 years of age next year in 2024, the same year the tournament will take place if Poland qualifies. After several years he also won Series A with his team and was one of the key factors of his team’s success.

Przemysław Frankowski had one of the best seasons in French League 1. He is playing for RC Lens as a midfielder. The team itself was one of the highlights of last season’s League 1 thanks to his great support for the team. Michał Skóraś is one of the most notable players to come out of Lech Poznań. He is also a young player at 23 years old. He played a key role in the Europa Conference League by getting a lot of goals in the last season.

Sebastian Szymański is an offensive midfielder for Feyenoord Rotterdam. He helped to win the Netherlands league after the hegemony of Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven. Jakub Kiwior is one of the best prospects of polish representation. He is playing for Arsenal under the keen eye of Mikel Arteta. He is unique for Poland because he knows his way around the ball and knows how to start plays.

Bartosz Bereszyński is a Polish defender born in 1992. He is a player for UC Sampdoria, a Serie A team. He is currently on loan to SSC Napoli but is expected to be back in Sampadoria by the end of June. He won Series A while he was on loan but at the same time his team UC Sampdoria went down to Series B.

Jakub Kamiński is also one of the youngest players at only 21 years of age, also from Lech Poznań who is one of the best upcoming stars from Poland in the 21st century, who does not fear any 1v1s. He is currently playing for VfL Wolfsburg. Tomasz Kędziora is a 29-year-old Polish right defender, currently playing in PAOK Saloniki which is a team in Super League 1.

Will Poland Qualify to UEFA Euro 2024?

Considering how strong the squad itself is, there is a high chance of Poland qualifying for the tournament. Considering the results of matches already played, most likely not from first or second spot, but the representation should qualify to the play-offs from the third spot. Poland will still play against the Faroe Islands, Albania, Moldova, and Czech Republic in September, October and November of 2023 so there is all to play for still.
