26. Giovanni Lo Celso

Like another Primera midfielder on this list (hint: #42), Giovanni Lo Celso has already secured his big-money move across the pond, and he will join the ranks of Unai Emery’s band of misfit Parisians in a few days. PSG will face Barcelona for the 7th time since 2013 on Valentine’s Day, but there’s something different this time. There’s uncertainty over the coach. PSG is now an underdog for the L’Hexagoal. With Zlatan gone, the team is in need of a talisman who can decide matches on his own, whose quality instantly exceeds that of any one on the pitch. Lo Celso isn’t there just yet, but his sheer brilliance at Rosario Central, the way he effortlessly broke the lines of defense for Teófilo Gutiérrez to score a tap-in, or how he danced his away from opposing defenders, is why I’m backing him to win a starting spot before PSG face the Spanish champions in February. His footballing idol is Angel Di María, they know each other’s families personally. However, all is fair in love, war, and football, and it would not be a surprise to see Lo Celso gun down the wounded gazelle that is Di María at the moment, shoving him out of the lineup and possibly expediting a move to China or overseas. Furthermore, Emery may have found the canalla to rescue his flailing job safety, and deliver PSG back to greatness.
