Like the previous one on the list, Houssem Aouar is a bizarrely creative player with technique out of this world. Like Nouri, he still has to choose between his North African heritage (Algeria) or the country in which he is currently playing in (France). Furthermore, Aouar still has to break into the first team, but with Nabil Fekir’s recent struggles since his ACL injury, Aouar has a real shot to do it for Les Gones next year. Bruno Génésio would do well to give the Algerian more opportunities in Lyon’s fight for a Champions League spot. Les Gones (The Kids in French) have the best youth academy in Europe, so it’s high praise to say that Aouar is the best forward to come out of Lyon’s academy since Anthony Martial. He’s a massive talent who can play #10 or on the wing. With close control and trademark Algerian flair, he can be one of the best playmakers in world football.
