Inter Miami host Atlanta, with Javier Mascherano’s side looking to chase down Eastern Conference league leaders Philadelphia and secure their playoff spot. Atlanta’s remaining matches will be about them maintaining pride, with Atlanta having won just five games in the MLS this season – leaving them 24 points adrift of the playoff spots.

Match Stats: Inter Miami are clear favourites

Inter Miami are priced at 1.42 to win this game, which is quite a generous pricing without even looking at some of the handicap and goal markets available for the clash. Atlanta have conceded the second most goals in the Eastern Conference so far this season (58 – 1.81 per game), with 30 of these goals being conceded across their 16 away matches (1.87 per game).

Atlanta have only managed to win one of these away matches – which is the worst travelling record in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta have failed to really carry any sort of goal threat across these games, netting just nine goals, which is unsurprisingly the worst record in the division.

By contrast, Inter Miami sit third in the Eastern Conference having won 10 of their 16 home matches so far this term. What really stands out about these home games is the fact that Inter Miami have scored 40 goals in front of their home fans – more than any other side in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta may have chances in this game seeing as Inter Miami have conceded 26 goals across their home matches, but I’d still expect Inter Miami to come out on top, even if they are unable to keep a clean sheet. They ran out 2-1 winners over Atlanta in the most recent clash between the sides.

Predictions –

Inter Miami to win @ 1.42

Inter Miami -1 handicap @ 2.10

Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.30

Shot Stats: Keep an eye on Miguel Almiron

Almiron has been Atlanta’s most dangerous player in what has been a disappointing season overall for the club. He’s registered nine goal contributions across his 30 appearances for the club this term (5 goals, 4 assists) and can continue to be a threat here, with his shot numbers also standing out.

The Paraguayan tends to play as part of a front two, so he finds himself in more advantageous positions from which to get shots away. He’s taken 65 shots across his 30 appearances (2.23 per 90), with his xG of 8.72 suggesting that the quality of his chances should have produced a few more goals.

Almiron has lasted the entire 90 minutes in each of Atlanta’s last four games, scoring two goals across these matches. He’ll be a threat to an Inter Miami side that have conceded 26 goals across their 16 home games so far this season.

Inter Miami conceded against Atlanta when the sides faced off back in March – Almiron was involved in the game via foul involvements on that occasion, with eight in total for the former Newcastle winger.

Miguel Almiron 2+ shots @ ?

Miguel Almiron 1+ shots on target @ ?

Card Stats: Inter Miami more likely to receive cautions

Inter Miami rank seventh in the MLS across both conferences when it comes to yellow cards. They have picked up 77 yellow cards across their 32 matches so far this season (2.40 per game).

Red Bulls Stay Unbeaten at Home, Atlanta Still Winless on the Road

By contrast, Atlanta average 2.03 cards per game across their 32 matches in the MLS so far this term. This is still a pretty healthy record so it’s worth backing Atlanta for cautions as well here, but the value may be with the home side, seeing as they are the favourites for this match.

There were four yellow cards produced when these sides clashed back in March, with three of these being shown to Atlanta. There may be slightly less intensity in this meeting, with Atlanta not really having too much to play for and Inter Miami already holding a secure spot in the playoffs, but I’d still expect a few cards to be handed out given the records of both of these sides.

Predictions –

Inter Miami 2+ cards @ ?
