Juventus v AC Milan
Kick Off: Saturday 18th January, 17:00 GMT
Competition: Serie A
Watch live: One Football
Two of the Serie A powerhouses meet in a tight looking match on Saturday evening, when Juventus look to preserve their unbeaten start to the league season against AC Milan.
Christian Pulisic: The American Talisman Leading Milan to Glory
Juventus are yet to lose in 20 outings in Serie A this season but they have ended in a stalemate on 13 occasions. AC Milan aren’t going quite as well as their opponents here but they carry plenty of threat and will move level on points with Juve should they win here. Will Juventus avoid defeat once again or is this the day they taste defeat in Serie A for the first time in this season?

Match Stats: Expect both teams to score in a match full of corners
Juventus go into the match as the favourites to come out on top, but it is hard to back a side who have actually only won just over a third of their Serie A matches this season. Clearly, it is a huge thing that they have gone this deep into the campaign without being beaten, but AC Milan are a big danger to that record.
Il Destino Del Serbo: How Dušan Vlahović Looks to Deny Doubters under Juventus’ Thiago Motta
On the flip side of that, it is hard to go against a team who haven’t lost a game this term, although in theory the draw would be a runner, with Juventus having had 13 of them in 20 matches. AC Milan don’t tend to get many though so ignoring the match outcome and looking elsewhere could be the smarter play.
The obvious place to look is both teams to score. Juventus might be unbeaten in Serie A this season but they have suddenly started conceding goals. Each of their last 7 in the league have seen both teams to score and that trend can continue here. The last 3 AC Milan matches have had both teams finding the net and they have also been involved in both teams scoring against Atalanta, Fiorentina, Inter Milan and Lazio, so the 1.80 on both teams to score looks big.
Alongside that, these are two of the biggest corner earners in Serie A. AC Milan have earned 110 of them in their 19 matches while Juventus have 100 in their 20 games so both are averaging 5 or more. You can get 1.57 on over 8.5 corners in this match and when these two met in the Super Cup semi-finals a couple of weeks ago not only did both teams to score land, but over 8.5 corners did too with 12 of them in the contest.
It might be worth backing over 8.5 corners and even 9.5 corners as both would only need to perform to their seasonal average for us to get to double figures.
Predictions:
BTTS @ 1.80
Over 8.5 corners @ 1.57
Over 9.5 corners @ 2.00
Shot Stats: Wide forwards the ones to side with in the shots markets
Both these sides go into the game with injuries in the forward department. Juventus are going to be without Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik while there is no Christian Pulisic for AC Milan and Alvaro Morata is suspended. That could open the door for the wider players to have some added importance to the attacking play here and two men in particular catch the eye in that regard.
When these two met in the Super Cup semi-final, Kenan Yildiz scored the Juventus goal so the 1.67 on him to have a shot on target appeals. Juventus played with a bit of a false nine in their last game and that led to four shots for Yildiz, although he didn’t hit the target with any of them. He did hit the target twice from 4 shots in that cup match earlier in the month though which makes his chances of having another here appealing.
Moving across to AC Milan and the even money on Rafael Leao having a shot on target also appeals. He is averaging 1.3 shots on target per 90 minutes in Serie A this season anyway so he wouldn’t even need to perform to his average to cover this. He didn’t play in that cup tie earlier in the month but with Pulisic and Morata missing here he is likely to be the focal point of the attack and looks a great price to hit the target.
Predictions:
Kenan Yildiz – 1+ shots on target @ 1.67
Rafael Leao – 1+ shots on target @ 2.00
Foul Stats: Cup clash can give us an indication into the fouls markets
The beauty of this Serie A match is that we have some really recent form to go on given that these two met in the Super Cup just over a couple of weeks ago. In that match, Juventus midfielder Manual Locatelli conceded 2 fouls and he can be taken at 1.73 to replicate that feat and with AC Milan solid in the centre of the park it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that happen once again.
Locatelli averages 1.5 fouls committed per 90 minutes in Serie A this season so won’t be going well above his average to commit two more here. Moving over to the Milan side and Emerson Royal is an obvious man to target for committing fouls. In the cup tie earlier in the month he made two fouls and in the win over Como in midweek he made 3 fouls.
He averages 2.1 fouls per 90 in Serie A this season and that makes the even money on him committing at least two fouls here all the more appealing.
Predictions:
Manuel Locatelli – 2+ fouls @ 1.73
Emmerson Royal – 2+ fouls @ 2.00
