It shocked many when it seemed like Manchester United was about to secure an imminent transfer for Hirving Lozano last summer, but with the January transfer window approaching, you can see why Mourinho was so keen on him. Anthony Martial has yet to return to his 2015-16 form, and has even found himself second choice to Jesse Lingard lately, but Henrik Mkhitaryan has saved his United career with a great run of form lately. Still, neither offer the blistering pace or relentless running at fullbacks Lozano does. Lozano has emerged as Liga MX’s most promising talent this year, helping his side to the Liga MX Clausura. Another product of Pachuca’s world class academy, Lozano dribbles defenders at will and cut in from the left. Like many talents in his age and position, he tends to be a “bala de fogueo,” so much excitement and yet such little end product. The next step will be taking the trip across the Atlantic, where he should land in either Portugal or France.
