Match Stats: Nations League Champions face World Cup Quarter-Finalists
Both sides kicked off their Nations League campaign with a win.
Norway edged out Denmark 3-2 on Thursday, with Erling Haaland once again getting on the scoresheet. They did finish the game with ten men, however, as David Moller Wolfe was sent off for a second yellow in added time, while Portugal edged Wales 1-0 in Lisbon on a frustrating night for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Møller Wolfe's suspension means Ryerson should fill in at full-back, but besides that, Norway head coach Stale Solbakken should name the same attacking line-up that put three past the Danes.
Portugal are in a new era under 72-year-old Jorge Jesus, now the oldest coach of the national team.
They dominated Wales, having 22 shots to five, but needed a Joao Felix strike deflected off Ben Davies to separate the sides, and a trip to Oslo is a different animal.
This Norway side reached the World Cup quarter-finals in the summer and were, in truth, unlucky not to beat England. They are a side that scored at least twice in five of their seven matches in the tournament.
At home, with the bookies struggling to split these two, the hosts are worth siding with.
Predictions -
Norway Double Chance @ 1.50
Shot Stats: Haaland Keeps the Tap Running
Erling Haaland bagged another brace against Denmark on Thursday, having five shots (four of which hit the target), and has now scored in 15 of his last 16 competitive games for Norway, netting 29 goals in that run.
The World Cup was a similar story, as 2+ shots on target landed in all three of Norway's World Cup group games, and with Martin Odegaard pulling the strings behind him, Ruben Dias and Tomas Araujo are in for a long night.
Compare that with the man at the other end: Cristiano Ronaldo missed the target with five of his seven efforts against Wales and was hooked after 67 minutes, so Haaland is the far stronger shots play.
Predictions -
Erling Haaland to have 2+ Shots on Target @ 1.66
Foul Stats: Veiga's Busy Night and Odegaard in the Wars
Portugal's Renato Veiga is the standout foul pick.
In their 1-0 win over Wales, he gave away five free-kicks on his own, four of them before the half-hour mark, even though Portugal had 61% of the ball.
If predicted line-ups are to go by, he's the left-sided centre-back, which puts him on Erling Haaland and on the channel Oscar Bobb likes to attack. He'll have a lot more to deal with than Lewis Koumas.
Martin Odegaard looks a likely candidate to be fouled for the Norwegians.
He was fouled three times against Denmark, and one of those got Patrick Dorgu booked. With Vitinha, Neves and Fernandes all in the middle, Portugal's midfield will have to stop him from pulling the strings.
Predictions -
Renato Veiga to Commit 2+ Fouls @ 2.50
Martin Odegaard to be Fouled 1+ Times @ 1.36
