Omar Bugiel

Omar Khaled Chaaban (Arabic: عمر خالد شعبان; born 3 January 1994), commonly known as Omar Bugiel, is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Chinese club Suzhou Dongwu. Born in Germany, he plays for the Lebanon national team. Bugiel began his senior career with Selsey in 2011 before spells at Burgess Hill Town, Bognor Regis Town, and Worthing, where he established himself as a prolific goalscorer. He joined Forest Green Rovers in 2017, helping the club gain promotion to the EFL League Two through the National League play-offs. After a season in the Football League, he joined Bromley, initially on loan before signing permanently, and moved to Sutton United in 2019, helping them win the National League title and earn promotion to League Two in 2021. He joined AFC Wimbledon in 2023 and helped the club secure promotion to EFL League One in 2025, before signing for Suzhou Dongwu in 2026. Internationally, Bugiel made his debut for Lebanon in 2017 and represented the nation at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
