Handy resources for football fans this season

From podcasts to YouTube channels, football fans in the modern world have it extremely good. In fact, gone are the days when broadcast teletext was deemed as one of the few useful resources, with today’s technology-based environment leaving football fans with an array of handy offerings to tap in and out of.

The sport’s popularity has created a saturated offering

While these modern-day products and productions are largely welcomed by the football community, given the sport’s global popularity, there are so many of them to get through. Not every podcast will necessarily help you with your fantasy picks, though. Likewise, some accounts on X aren’t likely to give you the best tips if you’re considering having a bet on Premier League 2024/25, such as Kevin De Bruyne to assist 20+ league goals this season at 11/8. As such, there is certainly some content that is worth avoiding.

Overall, though, from podcasts put together by respected publications, to YouTube channels that garner millions of views every season, there is more good than bad stuff out there. Whether you’re after some Premier League betting tips or you want to hear about the latest Championship signings, there are some standout resources for football fans this season.

That Peter Crouch Podcast is fantastic

As we’ve already mentioned, podcasts are a preference for many passionate football fans. While there are some shoddy productions that aren’t worth listening to, That Peter Crouch Podcast is great. The former Liverpool and England striker is joined by Chris Stark and former Reading hero, Steve Sidwell, as they take a comical dive into life as a footballer. Also accessible on YouTube, the podcast also contains the odd appearance of celebrity guests, with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan previously appearing on the show.

The Totally Football Show is another podcast that warrants a serious look, with respected journalists like Rory Smith and Duncan Alexander joining host James Richardson as they take an in-depth look at the sport’s biggest talking points. The Football Ramble is another strong production, particularly as it provides plenty of comical value and some unique opinions.

YouTube is filled with content creators

If there’s a platform that has become filled with poor content, then it’s YouTube. Thankfully, though, there are also some talented content creators who are uploading some unmissable videos. One of them is certainly Nieve Petruzziello, also known as Stuntpegg, who visits football grounds all around the world and clearly knows about the game in extensive detail.

Spencer FC is another popular channel, with the owner of non-league side Hashtag United showing you what running a football club entails. COPA90 is another excellent option, with the channel celebrating football fans through a range of powerful uploads. For breaking news and various views, Football Daily is also worth subscribing to.

The best apps to download

Although downloading apps like X and following accounts like Natter Football and HLTCO is recommended, it isn’t the only Android and iOS application worth adding to your devices. From FotMob, which offers real-time updates on match stats, goals, and substitutions, to the Premier League’s app, an option for fantasy managers and news fiends, the options are extensive.

The FIFA Official App is another product worth downloading, particularly if you’re partial to football outside of the UK. The Athletic is another essential app, with the subscription-based sports journalism website sharing more informative articles than anywhere else.Â
